St. Martha’s Hall stands with Always, because “Like A Girl” should never be an insult. Please take a few minutes to view this commercial, share it with everyone you know, and next time you hear someone use “Like A Girl” as an insult, challenge them!
Another recent commercial from Verizon Wireless also reminds us that inspiring a young girls mind is more important than just telling her she’s pretty. Both very powerful commercials that send a great message to all the young women out there, as well as everyone who interacts with young females: their young male friends, brothers, fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, grandparents, teachers, clergy, and more.
Pantene Pro-V is also jumping on this female-centered, empowered advertising bandwagon with this commercial. St. Martha’s Hall staff have been telling women for years that we apologize too much, and we catch and remind each other almost daily not to be sorry for no reason. This commercial also does a great job of giving examples of better ways to say what we need to say without apologizing for speaking our minds.
We are reminded from Nike that this is not an entirely new concept in advertising with this very powerful commercial which speaks near and dear to the heart of St. Martha’s Hall (as you will see at about 0:16). Each of these four commercials is short, so please take just a few minutes to watch them and share them with all the women you love in your life (mothers, sisters, wives, aunts, cousins, co-workers, friends, daughters, etc) for a quick pick-me-up.
St. Martha’s Hall knows the importance of having high self-esteem and encouraging young women to be confident and assertive. We know that this can be a protective factor for women as they grow older and navigate through relationships. We are so pleased that major corporations are catching on and promoting these messages for which St. Martha’s Hall has stood for years.
