Time Out Against DV Success

We are so thankful to all of the students, coaches, managers, athletic directors, presidents, principals, parents, board members, staff, and friends that helped to make the Time Out Against Domestic Violence Project such a huge success this year!  Of course thank you to Peg McCartney who pulled it all together and went to a game every night there was one!  We reached at least 5,000 people and are continuing to grow our outreach and impact.  Below are some highlights from the season.

  • Approximately 5,000 spectators heard the Time Out PSA during the game
  • More than 500 pair of purple socks were worn by players and fans.
  • St. Mary’s and Sumner held their Time Out Game on Senior night.
  • Peg McCartney was invited by the Sumner Women’s Coach and her players to view the video with them at a practice and answer questions.  This year’s Valedictorian read the PSA before the game.  Peg was asked to join the coaches and players on the floor at half time for photos. 
  • Priory printed the PSA on their program in purple.  Father Dowling spoke about domestic violence with the Priory players and spoke on behalf of the Time Out Project at the beginning of the game.  Father wore the purple “coaches” shirt.
