HerStory 2026: A Campaign of Hope
On July 29, we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Martha, a woman remembered for her hospitality and faithful service. Her story continues to inspire us today, especially those who carry heavy burdens, care for others, and seek hope amid uncertainty.
Today, the legacy of St. Martha lives on through our ministry, where women and children impacted by domestic violence find safety, compassion, and a path forward. Like the saint whose name we bear, we seek to welcome those in need with dignity, care, and unwavering support.
Every woman who comes to Saint Martha’s has a story. The women and children we serve are not strangers, they are part of YOUR parish, YOUR community, and YOUR children’s school.
She is courageous. She has faced unimaginable challenges and has taken the brave first step of leaving a violent relationship, a time that is often the most dangerous and uncertain in her journey. Feeling frightened, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn, she comes seeking safety, hope, and the opportunity to build a life free from violence.
Her story is one of resilience, bravery, faith, and transformation.
With the support of Saint Martha’s Shelter and Drop-In center, she can begin to reclaim her life. Through compassionate care, advocacy, resources, and community support, women and their children gain the tools they need to achieve stability, restore their dignity, and move toward independence.
The commitment of those who serve this mission – staff, board members, volunteers, donors, and community partners – provides more than services; it offers hope, healing, and the assurance that no one walks this journey alone.
Beginning this Feast Day, we invite you to honor St. Martha’s example of faithful service by becoming part of her story. Your gift today will help provide shelter, safety, advocacy, and ongoing support for women and children right here in your community.
Please pray for the women and children served through Saint Martha’s and consider making a generous gift in celebration of St. Martha’s Feast Day.
